Upcoming Changes to Course Enrolment
If you are planning to enrol in Fall 2025 and/or Winter 2026 courses, please continue to monitor your uoguelph email throughout the coming months for important information about these changes to the course enrolment process:
- WebAdvisor queuing: We are hoping to implement a queuing system to better manage the load on our WebAdvisor servers and make enrolling in courses a smoother experience for everyone.
- Waitlists: We are exploring the use of waitlists for course sections so that students do not have to continually monitor WebAdvisor for space availability.
- Course waivers: We are changing the way prerequisite, corequisite, and "instructor consent" course waivers will work, allowing for self-enrolment if approved.
Additional changes for undergraduate and associate diploma students
- Registration deposit: A registration deposit of $500 is due by June 15, 2025, for all undergraduate and associate diploma students. Failure to pay the deposit will prevent course enrolment. For more information, visit the U of G Deposits webpage or the Guelph-Humber Deposits webpage. First-year international students who have paid their $2000 deposit do not also need to pay the $500 deposit.
- Two-semester registration (Guelph campus only): Undergraduate and associate diploma students will be able to enrol in Fall 2025 and Winter 2026 courses when their course selection window opens this summer. Why two-semester registration? It allows for a more holistic approach to course enrolment, reducing stress and giving you a complete view of your upcoming year.
Fall 2025 and Winter 2026
Fall 2025 course offerings for the Guelph campus will be posted on WebAdvisor on Tuesday, June 17, 2025. Winter 2026 courses for undergraduate and associate diploma students on the Guelph campus will also be posted on June 17.

Course selection for Winter 2026 courses will continue until Friday, January 9, 2026.
Most 1000-level courses will be restricted to first-year students until 2 p.m. EDT on Wednesday, July 23. A detailed list of these temporary course restrictions will be posted on the Course Restrictions web page in advance of course selection.
Students will be unable to enrol in courses on WebAdvisor on the following date and time:

Course Selection Windows for Undergraduate and Associate Diploma Students
The course selection windows are based on the number of completed and in-progress credits. To determine when you can begin selecting courses, you can find your number of completed and in-progress credits by running your Unofficial Transcript or viewing your My Progress page on WebAdvisor.
- To view the “My Progress” page, click on the "Academics" icon in the menu on the left, click "Student Planning" and then select “My Progress.” In the “Total Credits” bar on the right side of the page, add the number of completed credits (in dark green) and the number of in-progress credits (in light green). For more information about the “My Progress” page, watch the Student Planning video tutorial.
- When viewing your Unofficial Transcript, add the weight of each of your current courses (displayed on the “Plan, Schedule, Register & Drop” page when you click on the course name) to the “Total Credits Completed” at the bottom of the transcript.
In order for varsity student-athletes to participate in practices and competitions, they may begin selecting courses on June 23 regardless of the number of credits. Student-athletes are encouraged to select courses as soon as possible so that coaches can set team practice times and book facilities for the season.
