Recruit Volunteers
Student Volunteer Connections (SVC)
SVC is U of G's on-campus volunteer hub that works to connect our partners with both undergraduate and graduate student volunteers who are eager to give back to their community, enhance their skills, and gain valuable volunteering experience.
Here are ways we can help you connect to student volunteers:
Become a Volunteer Placement Through VECT
The Volunteer Experience & Career Training program (VECT) is a co-curricular program where University of Guelph students gain experience volunteering in the non-profit or public sector, contribute to community initiatives, and enhance their career readiness. Students volunteer with an organization for a minimum of 30 hours, over one or two semesters.

Use Experience Guelph to Recruit Volunteers
If you have a volunteer opportunity in the Guelph-Wellington region and you would like to recruit students, you can do so through our Experience Guelph Volunteer Opportunities portal.
If you have a volunteer opportunity to share with University of Guelph students, please complete the following steps:
- Log in or register for an account on Experience Guelph.
- Receive a login and password.
- Post volunteer positions, review applicants, and select candidates to interview.
Partner with us for Project Serve
Project Serve connects students to the community through short-term volunteering opportunities, including half-day volunteering events. If you would like to organize a Project Serve Day with a group of students in a concentrated timeframe, please reach out!

Promote Your Volunteer Opportunities In-person
If you are a registered non-profit organization looking for more ways to engage with students about your volunteer opportunities, we welcome you to join us on campus for in-person recruitment events, including our Student Volunteer Connections Fairs that take place in September and January. We can also work with you to set up a tabling opportunity in a high-traffic location. If you are interested, please reach out!
