Kevin VO: “I want to be a pediatrician. To be that person of knowledgeable, calming comfort when someone feels lost is truly a privilege.”

Krish VO: “I remember the first time I was watching a Maple Leafs game, and I saw Nazem Kadri go full speed ahead and knock one of the Ottawa Senator defenders into the boards. I was like, "Is this guy really okay?" I found that the best match for where I want to go in my career would be to take a program in the biological sciences. I'm able to learn more about the actual biochemistry within our bodies and the inner biochemistry of our brains.”

Kevin VO: “I chose the biomedical program because when I took a look at the courses they were offering, I felt like they offered a very vast variety of healthcare-related courses that I think would serve me and educate me very well in my future career. With hands-on cadaveric based learning, these are moments that you just can't find in a lecture hall anywhere.

Krish VO: “The staff and faculty here have been really, really helpful for my development as a student, as a person, as a leader. I feel like the ability to do science alongside other minors that I enjoy provides me with the opportunity to continue down my pathway to the health field. You know how much you have to do, really, to stand out. If you're looking at the health science field, sure your grades matter, but they want to see that you're a well-rounded person, they want to see that you've done stuff outside of academics.”

Kevin VO: “I'm co-president of two clubs on campus. It has taught me things that I will use in my future career. And being someone who did live off campus, being part of a club introduced me to that social campus life.

Krish VO: “The University of Guelph gives you the best chance to have that academic experience with the amount of research opportunities here, but also the ability to engage with a community that you wouldn't find anywhere else.”
