What We're Looking For in Ideal Candidates
Creative
We want you to help pick out trends and find ways to apply them to our marketing department. Candidates must use social media frequently.
Committed
Although the role is low commitment (~2 hours a week), we expect that you will stay engaged through the entire semester.
Passionate
You should LOVE living in residence and/or LOVE food and want to show that passion to others!
Independent
The role will involve collaboration through team meetings, but you will also be responsible for individual assignments. Time management is key!
How it works?
Content Creators will be responsible for creating a wide variety of digital content, including:
Instagram Reels/TikToks (day in the life, what I eat in a day, best spots to study/eat on campus, how I use academic resources, other trends, etc.)
- Instagram Stories (ask me anything, residence tours, etc.)
- Residence Photoshoots & Virtual Room Tours
- Videos (how to do laundry, complete a check-out, etc.)
The role focuses primarily on short video promotion, with other opportunities being assigned on an as-needed basis.
Content ideas will be developed in collaboration with the Student Coordinator, Integrated Marketing and Communications. Creators are expected to assist in the brainstorming of content ideas during the bi-weekly meetings.
How You Earn Points (and Get Paid!)
As a Content Creator, you can earn up to 100 points throughout the year. These points directly determine your payment, with 100 points equaling $500. Here’s how it works:
Category | Points | Allocation |
---|---|---|
Meeting Attendance | Earn 1.5 point | 25.5% |
Content Assignment | Earns 3.5 points | 52.5% |
Special Projects | Earn 6 points | 22% |
- We’ll have weekly brainstorming meetings.
- Each meeting is worth 1.5 point. Participating in these meetings helps you earn points and contribute to the team’s creative process.
- You will complete around 15 content assignments over the Summer.
- Each assignment is worth about 3.5 point.
- Your content needs to meet our quality standards to earn these points. We’ll give you clear guidelines on what makes content high quality.
- You will be assigned special projects that may require multiple days to finish - like Room Tours, Residence Tours, Long form Videos, Scripting & Directing the Video.
- Each project is worth 6 points.
- Total Points Earned: We will add up your points from assignments, meetings, and events.
- Payment: Multiply your total points by $5 to see how much you have earned.
Note: Creators can earn up to $500 in cash payment. Points are tracked and awarded by the Student Coordinator, Integrated Marketing and Communications. Swag and other incentives will be made available for Creators related to specific marketing initiatives.
