Accessing Your Central Login | New International Students
All U of G students are provided with a university-issued email account (GryphMail) which is used by U of G for all official communication, registering for courses, accessing resources which require a login, and more.
Central login credentials are issued at different times depending on your applicant type:
International Undergraduate Students
- From Outside Canada: After you accept your offer
- From Ontario: After you accept your offer
- From Canada (Outside Ontario): After you apply
International Transfer Students
- After you apply
International Graduate Students
- After you apply
Once your credentials have been generated, you will be sent an email with your Single Sign-On (SSO) information that you need to access your account. This email will be titled "U of G - Get ready for your first semester!"
Multi-Factor Authentication
Once you receive your login credentials, you will be prompted to set up Multi-factor Authentication (MFA). We strongly recommend the use of the Microsoft Authenticator App as your default additional authentication method as it provides both security and convenience and can be used even when your phone is not connected to data. We do not recommend using your international phone number as an authentication method as you may not be able to use this number while traveling and upon arriving in Canada.
If you have already set up MFA with your phone number, we strongly recommend that you switch to using the Microsoft Authenticator App by following these step-by-step instructions on our IT website. During the MFA set-up process, make sure to uncheck the check box that says, "Allow my organization to manage my device". Instead, please choose, "No, sign in to this app only".
