I chose to study Biological and Pharmaceutical Chemistry at the University of Guelph because of the wide variety of career paths it can take me down. I’ve taken courses such as Introduction to Toxicology which explored the effects of toxins on both an environmental and human health level, as well as Analytical Chemistry I and II where the lab component includes the use of exciting machines and technology.
My undergraduate experience in the Bio-Medical Science program provided a solid foundation for medical school, where much of the coursework repeated or built on what I studied at U of G. The hands-on dissection course in the Human Anatomy Lab was a unique and valuable educational experience, which helped me on my path towards becoming a neurosurgeon.
